A Teaching on healing
God is not withholding healing from anyone at this moment... that's
why Naaman (2 Kings ch5) who was a Syrian, an enemy of the jews,
the captain of the kings army and an Idle worshiper, could get
healed. In Luke 4:27 Jesus said... And many lepers were in Israel
in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed,
saving Naaman the Syrian. Here Jesus was saying Naaman had faith
while the others didn't
There is a principal in the word of God that is sadly neglected....
Seven times in the synoptic Gospels, someone's .. FAITH got someone
else healed...
1.Mt 8:5-10 The Centurion for his servant..
2.Mt 14:17-21 The father for his lunatic son..
3.Mark 2:4-5 The Paralytic ... Jesus saw their faith..
4.Mark 5:22-43 Jairus for his daughter...
5.Mark 7:25-30 The Syro-Phoenician women for her daughter..
6.John 4:46-53 The nobleman for his son..
7.John 11:11-45 Martha for her brother lazarus!
The teaching of the bible is that Faith can be weak .. In a believer
or a multitude...
Mark 6:5-6 And He could do no miracle there..6 And He wondered
at their unbelief
Think about this... Scripture says that Jesus Created all things...
Col 1:16 For by him (Jesus)were all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they
be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things
were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things,
and by him all things consist.
Yet Mark 6:5 says.... he could not do any miracles... in his own
home town! WHY? .... Unbelief! (Unbelief is not being in a state
of ..Not believing, Its being in a state of believing the wrong
thing!)
Also the Bible teaches that faith can be strong......
Matt 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy
that thou should come under my roof: but speak the word only,
and my servant shall be healed.
Matt 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that
followed, Verily I say unto you,I have not found so GREAT faith,
no, not in Israel.
GREAT 5118 tosoutos (tos-oo'-tos); so vast as this, i.e. such (in
quantity, amount, as large, so great (long, many, much), these
many.
Luke 17:5-6 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our
faith.
Increase = 4369 prostithemi (pros-tith'-ay-mee);from 4314 and 5087;
to place additionally, i.e. lay beside, annex, repeat: KJV-- add,
again, give more, increase, lay unto, proceed further,
The bible teaches Lack of faith...OR not enough faith....
Matt 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of
little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea;
and there was a great calm.(KJV)
Matt 17:19-20 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said,
Why could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because
of your unbelief:...
unbelief = 5732 oligopistia (ol-ig-op-is-tee'- found only in Matt.
17:20: littleness of faith, lack of faith.
Jesus taught that the more faith you had the more you could accomplish...
Matt 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief:
for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard
seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place;
and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matt 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto
you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this
which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this
mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall
be done.
Mark 11:23-24 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his
heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass ,it will
be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer,
believe that you HAVE RECIEVED IT, and it will be yours.
NOW DOES THE BIBLE TEACH THAT WE CAN COMBINE OUR FAITH? (ADD YOUR
FAITH TO MINE?)......
Matt 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree
on earth a touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be
done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
It says here .... If TWO will join there faith, ... well what
do you think will happen if .... 30 .. 50 .. 100 ... Will join
there faith!? ( why do you think miracles happen in large meetings
... filled with believers?)
James 5:14-151 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders
of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name
of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick
person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will
be forgiven.(NIV)
If anyone should have faith......it should be the elders! Again
this is another example of combined faith!
The bible teaches that God will never say no to a promise, 2Cor
1:17-20... ( Look in any Dictionary ... below the word ... promise,
... you will find ... Promise Breaker ... God is not a promise
breaker!)
2 Cor 1:19-20 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached
among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but
in him it has always been "Yes." 20 For no matter how
many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ.
And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the
glory of God.(NIV)
The bible teaches that God can not lie...
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,
promised before the world began;
Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible
for God to lie,
(read from Heb 6:12 to 20 ... Its all about how God’s promises
are Immutable, which means impossible to alter or change. This
is the only place in scripture were the word immutable is used
twice, and were it says God's promises are a SWORN
OATH)
Heb 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could
swear by no greater, he swear by himself,(KJV)
Does God PROMISE healing in the Bible?...
Isa 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with
his stripes we are healed...
1 Pet 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the
tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.(KJV)
Some say this is not physical healing in Isa 53:4-5, but look
how the author of Matthew interprets it!...
Matt 8:16-17 When the even was come, they brought unto him many
that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with
his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our
infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
As God's word cannot be altered, (Ps 89:34) it is clear that it
is TALKING ABOUT PHYSICAL HEALING!...and it is a PROMISE!
Ps 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that
is gone out of my lips.(KJV)
I see a two fold problem in the church when it comes to faith....
#1The first problem, not enough faith.......
Matt 17:19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why
could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because
of your unbelief:
unbelief = 5732 oligopistia (ol-ig-op-is-tee'-found only in Matt.
17:20: littleness of faith, lack of faith.
Think about this .... the disciples were sent out to ... heal
the sick, cast out devils, ... raise the dead, In Matt 10. Here
in the 17th ch, Jesus said there combined faith in this situation
wasn't strong enough ...."This kind "(speaking of a powerful
demon)... Also, needs prayer and fasting ....(If Jesus says it
won’t come out but by prayer and fasting, along with faith,
then do it! ... or it won't come out!)
Matt 10:7-8 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven
is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,
cast out devils:....
So here in Mt 17:18-21, Jesus said that there combined faith was
not enough!... As well as there being an absolute need to pray
and fast!
#2... The second problem is, The understanding of what real faith
is..
James 1:6-8 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. (to waver
between to opinions) For he that wavereth is like a wave of the
sea driven with the wind and tossed.7 For let not that man think
that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded
man is unstable in all his ways.
Faith never says ..“God is going to heal me”... that
is using HOPE, instead!...
Hope = 1680 elpis (el-pece');from a primary elpo (to anticipate,
usually with pleasure); expectation or confidence:
Faith ALWAYS says... GOD HAS HEALED ME!, ITS
MINE NOW! The faith
of the bible is always NOW... Never putting it off to some future
date!)
Of the thousands Jesus healed, did he ever say... "Its not
the Fathers time to heal you?" Then why do we say it?
Mark 11:24(niv) Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in
prayer, believe that you HAVE received it, and it will be yours.
2 Cor 5:7 (for we walk by faith, not by sight.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.
Faith does not depend on our five senses to tell us we are healed,
it depends ONLY on God’s HOLY word!
Ps 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried
in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Ps 12:7 Thou shalt
keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation
for ever. Heb 11:1 What is faith you ask.. well it is an inner
assurance that the things we hope for actually exist....the conviction
that they are already ours ...even though we cannot see them!...
Now that is faith!
Teaching by Paul Gifford..who was paralyzed while falling trees
for a Pulp Mill. He drives a chin control wheelchair and uses a
mouth stick to type....
I need people to join there faith to mine..like this...
Father we praise you and rejoice in the fact that Paul Gifford,
is healed by the stripes Jesus took on his back ... According to
your holly unchangeable word!
We walk by faith and not by sight...we believe only your word
( not what we see, that is contrary to your word) ...we join our
faith to Paul's and thank you that we have NOW, the healing you
have so graciously provided ...
Also we bind the strong man and rebuke this Spirit of Paralyses,
and command it to go from Paul's body, in Jesus’s Name! ...
As it is written.... Luke 10:19 19 Behold, I give unto you power
to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.(KJV)
You can continue in this type of warfare as the Lord leads you
Thank you for joining your faith to mine...... together we will
move mountains! |
